Position Title: Homemaker

Healthy Generations is seeking a charismatic individual who works independently and enjoys interacting with older adults. Responsibilities include light housekeeping and errand services to seniors living in the Greater Fredericksburg Area. Must have reliable transportation, valid VA driver’s license and good references. Part-time up to 26 hours per week. EEOE, DFWP.

Position Title: Van Driver / Cafe Assistant

Healthy Generations Area Agency on Aging is seeking candidate to transport seniors to cafés, outings in community, events, trips out of town when scheduled, etc. Valid Driver’s License required with good driving record. Duties will include but, are not limited to:

· Transport participants to and from senior cafés by approved and most efficient routes based upon daily pick-up list.

· Provide patient and courteous assistance to participants upon entering and leaving the van and at the café.

· Provide assistance to those who will need some help from their door to the van and from the van to their door.

· Operate the van at all times in a manner consistent with the health and safety of the passengers.

· Transport participants to designated shopping points, only for the time specified, unless prior approval to vary the shopping schedule.

· Perform routine pre-trip inspection according to the pre-trip form provided.

· Maintain both interior and exterior cleanliness of the van with daily cleaning of the interior.

· Return van to the designated area for overnight parking and secure all windows and doors.

· Keep an accurate monthly van sheet, to be filled out daily.

· While at the café, the drivers are to get their directions and duties from the café manager. The café manager is in charge of the café and the drivers are to assist the café manager while at the café and on outing.

· Drivers will work in the kitchen, as needed, to heat the meals and serve meals and beverages.

· Set up and take down the tables and chairs based on the requirements of each café.

· Assist with activities at the café, bingo, arts and crafts, etc.

· After lunch cleanup will be needed, sweep, wipe tables, collect trash and remove from café.

Position Title: Mobility Options Driver

Help area Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities get where they need to go!

Healthy Generations Area Agency on Aging (HGAAA) is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, conscientious person to fill a part-time driver role within our Mobility Options Program. Interested applicants must be 25 years-old and prepared to provide specialized, sensitized, and personalized transportation services to area seniors and persons with disabilities. 20-25 hours/ week

Responsibilities:

· Transport older adults and/or persons with disabilities using agency vehicles, to targeted destinations (medical offices, grocery stores, personal business, scheduled social events).

· Provide patient, courteous assistance to all passengers as needed.

· Ensure safe loading and offloading of all passengers and proper securement of mobility devices as needed (wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, etc.)

· Display thorough knowledge of the operation and safety features of fleet vehicles, including the completion of daily pre-trip inspections.

· Provide excellent communication skills when interacting with passengers, care providers, family, and HGAAA staff

· Follow all agency safety and operational rules and procedures, including cleaning and disinfecting protocols.

· Other duties as assigned.

The Mobility Options program operates Monday – Friday from 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM, however, schedules change daily, applicant flexibility preferred.

Qualifications: High school diploma. Valid Virginia driver’s license with positive points required. Driving experience preferred. The applicant must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using a telephone and/ or in person. Solid working knowledge of state and local laws governing vehicular movement on public thoroughfares. Strong time-management skills. Strong geographic knowledge of the Fredericksburg Region and the ability to read and comprehend maps as well as provide detailed directions when necessary. Some working knowledge of common terminology in the field of transportation. Strong listening skills. Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment. Some computer skills. Ability to meet with the public and effectively communicate with them. Ability to prepare and maintain detailed records. Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.

Physical Requirements: Must have the use of sensory skills to safely and efficiently operate fleet vehicles and communicate and interact with other employees and the public in person. Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
